Delhi Monsoon: Yellow alert for storm and rain in Delhi-Noida, know when the monsoon will arrive


New Delhi: The mood of the weather has changed in the entire North India including the capital Delhi. People have got relief from the heat for the last few days. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many places including Delhi-NCR today. Monsoon can also knock in some areas of NCR today. Monsoon is also showing its effect in eastern India. Apart from this, rain alert has also been issued in many areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat.Delhi’s temperature will decrease further in the next seven days
The Meteorological Department said that the weather in Delhi has changed due to the western disturbance. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and drizzle along with strong winds in Delhi in the next few days. According to the seven-day forecast of IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi will drop to 34 degrees Celsius in the next few days. The IMD said in its forecast that due to the western disturbance, the temperature will gradually drop from 38 to 36 and then to 34 degrees in the next few days.

Three days yellow alert in Delhi
The people of Delhi are currently battling scorching heat and there have been nine heatwaves in June so far, while there was not a single heatwave during the same period in 2023 and 2022. The maximum temperature has dropped below 40 degrees Celsius due to western disturbances in northwest India. However, the IMD has not shared information on when the monsoon will hit the national capital. The monsoon usually enters Delhi between June 27 and 29. The Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy weather, light rain and thundershowers and strong winds at a speed of 25 to 35 kmph today. A ‘yellow’ alert has been issued for the next three days in the capital.

Monsoon will knock in Delhi this week
According to the forecast of private weather agency Skymet, monsoon may knock in Delhi by the end of this week. According to Mahesh Palawat of Skymet, monsoon is expected to reach Delhi on 29th or 30th June. Monsoon usually knocks in Delhi between 27th and 29th June. Last year, monsoon knocked on 26th June, while the first monsoon rain of 2022 occurred on 30th June. Delhi is facing severe heat, so far in June there has been heat wave for nine days, whereas there was no heat wave for a single day in 2023 and 2022.

Rain in many parts of Rajasthan
Light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms was recorded in many parts of Rajasthan during the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rain in the eastern parts of Rajasthan in the coming days. Apart from this, heavy rain is expected at some places in Udaipur, Kota, Jodhpur divisions during the next 48 hours.

Monsoon will cover North India in 2-4 days
According to IMD, ‘Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into north Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, some more parts of Rajasthan, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar, most parts of east Uttar Pradesh, some more parts of west Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, northern parts of Punjab and Haryana during next three-four days.’
