New Delhi: Under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), certificates of Indian citizenship were handed over to 14 people on Wednesday. After which now these 14 people are citizens of India and now they will be able to avail all the facilities of the Government of India. Among the 14 people who were given Indian citizenship, some are also refugees from Pakistan. One of them is Bhavna, a Hindu refugee from Pakistan. After getting Indian citizenship, he thanked PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

‘Muslims kidnap Hindu girls in Pakistan’

Bhavna, a Hindu refugee from Pakistan, said that there were a lot of difficulties there (Pakistan). Girls could not study there or go out of their homes. Muslims kidnap Hindu girls and forcibly convert them to Islam. The girls are so scared, they don’t go. I was very young when I was there, I don’t remember anything other than our house because we rarely went out of the house. We still have a lot of family members there who want to come to India but they are facing visa related problems. We are very happy to be in our country. PM Narendra Modi has helped us a lot. We thank PM Modi and Amit Shah. I want to become a teacher and teach.

Not only Bhavana, other people are also very happy to get Indian citizenship. Sheetal Das’s family of 19 people, living in Majnu Ka Tila, came here after fleeing from Sindh, Pakistan in 2013. Sheetal Das sells mobile phone covers for a living here. He said that he told that three people from his family have got citizenship. I am very happy. The government fulfilled our wish. Now I can live a respectable life in India.

Yoshoda, who came from Sindh, Pakistan, also obtained Indian citizenship. She said that she can now live a respectable life as an Indian. Expressing her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said that by getting Indian citizenship, the future of her family and children will now be secure.
He said that my long wait to get Indian citizenship is now over. I am really very happy.
