This disease can be caused by two types of fungi, namely Cryptococcosis Neo Foramen, this is the fungus whose cases are seen the most, this fungus is found in the soil. And the name of the second fungus is C Gatti. This fungus can infect even people who are completely healthy and whose immune system is also healthy.

How is it identified?

If your doctor notices symptoms related to this condition, he/she will do some physical examination and tests etc. If your doctor suspects that you have this infection, he/she orders a procedure like a spinal tap, in which you are made unconscious and an injection is made into your spine, some fluid is taken from there and then it is tested.

Treatment

If you are found to have this fungal infection, your doctor may initially give you anti-fungal drugs. You will have to take it daily and during this time your doctor will keep you under strict surveillance to ensure that these medicines are not affecting your kidneys. You may need to get your spinal fluid tested frequently while taking the medications so that your doctor can determine how much relief you have received.
