New Delhi: The effect of cyclonic storm Dana has now started weakening. However, in some states including Kerala, Bengal, Odisha, there are chances of strong wind along with rain. There was a slight improvement in the air quality in Delhi on Friday. It moved from ‘very bad’ to ‘poor’ category. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), clear skies are expected during the day and the maximum temperature will be around 34 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, due to the impact of Cyclone Dana, torrential rains were seen in the coastal districts of West Bengal. However, no serious damage was reported from the storm in any district. In Jharkhand, the impact of Cyclone Dana led to light to moderate rain in West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum districts of Kolhan. Slavery cold knocks in Delhi, air quality also improves

The air quality in the national capital improved on Saturday morning due to favorable winds, although the AQI is still recorded in the ‘poor’ category. This is the second consecutive day when the AQI has improved in the capital whereas for the last four days the AQI had remained ‘very poor’. The AQI in Mundka and Anand Vihar on Saturday was also recorded in the ‘very poor’ category. According to Delhi’s Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS), favorable winds are likely to prevail for the next one or two days, but due to adverse weather conditions, pollution levels may increase again in two-three days. AQI may also reach 400 by October 31.

What will be the temperature in Delhi, know the condition of UP-Bihar

The minimum temperature in Delhi on Saturday morning was recorded at 18.6 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above the average temperature of this season. According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather is expected in the national capital tomorrow i.e. Sunday also. The sky is expected to remain clear during the day and the maximum temperature will be around 34 degrees Celsius. The weather will be clear in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. There is no chance of rain.

Chances of rain at isolated places in West Bengal

The sky remained clear on Saturday, a day after heavy rains due to cyclone ‘Dana’ in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Officials said that due to the stoppage of rain, water level has reduced in many areas, which has brought relief to the people. However, the Meteorological Department has currently predicted light to moderate rain in many areas. During this period the maximum temperature will be around 30 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius.

How will the weather be in Odisha

In Odisha, the severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ hit the east coast early Friday, causing torrential rains and strong winds that uprooted trees and electric poles. There has been significant damage to infrastructure and crops in Odisha and West Bengal. The IMD has also issued an orange alert for several districts of Kerala due to cyclonic activity along the southern coast in the Arabian Sea.

Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts till October 27. Other parts of the state may also receive moderate rain with lightning and strong winds. The IMD advises to exercise caution in the affected areas, and urges residents to stay updated on weather alerts as the state prepares for further developments associated with the residual impacts of Cyclone Dana.
