Distances were seen at the funeral of Dr. Manmohan Singh, know how the seating plan was

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, considered the doctor of economy, merged into Panchatattva on Saturday. he/she was cremated with Sikh traditions at Nigam Bodh Ghat with state honours. On this occasion, many government ministers and the President including PM Modi also came to pay tribute. The seating arrangements at the funeral at Nigambodh Ghat exposed the political divide. The government and Congress camps were seen sitting in two different parts of the queue.

Although this seating arrangement of both the parties may be due to state protocol, but it reflects the cold bitterness between Congress and BJP. This tension had further increased after the Congress demanded on the eve of the funeral that Singh’s last rites should be performed at a place which could be developed as his/her memorial.

On one hand, the leadership of Prime Minister Modi included Defense and Home Ministers, bureaucrats, Army Chief etc. On the other hand, family members of party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Manmohan Singh were present in the Congress camp. Interestingly, sitting between the two sides were President Draupadi Murmu, Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Dr. Manmohan merged into Panchatattva

On Saturday morning, Dr. Singh’s body was brought to the Congress headquarters on Akbar Road from his/her Motilal Nehru Marg. Where a large number of Congress workers and other people were present. At the party headquarters, workers kept raising slogans of Manmohan Singh Amar Rahe. Chief Ministers and senior leaders of Congress ruled states paid tribute to him/her at the party headquarters itself. After that, Dr. Singh’s funeral procession started from Akbar Road in a flower-decorated army vehicle and reached Nigam Bodh Ghat via Ring Road. Rahul Gandhi and Dr. Singh’s family members reached Nigam Bodh Ghat with the funeral procession in the same vehicle.
