CUET Exam: Why was CUET postponed in Delhi?

According to NTA sources, many reasons have been responsible for postponing the May 15 exam in Delhi. Actually the number of students appearing for the exam in Delhi is 1.46 lakh. In Delhi, twice as many students are registered for the CUET exam as the number of students who were registered for NEET UG, the country’s biggest medical entrance exam.

  • Lack of manpower is also a major reason for postponing the first day of examination in Delhi. In fact, the fourth phase of voting took place in the country last Monday and many observers were on election duty in Delhi. Due to this, there is a shortage of examination invigilators for the May 15 exam.
  • Lok Sabha elections are also to be held in Delhi on May 25 and due to this, it has been difficult to find centers at many places.

Admit cards were issued to students for the exams of May 15, 16, 17 and 18. Revised admit card will be issued for the exam to be held on May 29.

NBT Lens: First day of examination is very important

The first day of CUET exam is very important for NTA. NTA tried till the last moment to hold the exam in Delhi also on 15th May but lack of manpower was the biggest reason due to which the exam had to be postponed in Delhi. In 2022 and 2023, only computer based test was conducted. But this time it is starting with offline examination. NTA sources say that there will be no problem in the remaining exams and students in Delhi will not face any problem on May 29. More centers will be available on 29th May and nearby centers will be allotted only under that, as is being done for the remaining days.
