CUET 2024: Getting admission in these 12 subjects is the most difficult, there will be tough competition, high cutoff

CUET Result 2024 Subject Wise Cut Off: The National Testing Agency has finally released the result of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) after a delay of 28 days. This time for admission in 283 universities CUET The score will be valid. This time NTA has released marks instead of percentile. Compared to the CUET result of 2023, this time in 2024, the number of people scoring perfect 100 percent marks has increased slightly. 22,920 candidates have got full scores (200 out of 200) in 45 different subjects. While only one candidate has got a perfect score (250 out of 250 marks) in the General Test.

This time CUET was held for 63 subjects. Out of which 33 were language, 29 were domain subjects and one paper was of general test. Last year in 2023 when the score came in percentile, 22,836 candidates got 100 percentile score in different subjects. This time there is a formula of full marks and the high scorers are slightly more. But there are a total of 12 such subjects in which the competition for admission is going to be the toughest.

Apart from this, 11 students have scored full marks in Hindi, 5 in Assamese, 4 in Bengali and 54 in Punjabi.

DU Cut-Off 2024: Tough competition again in commerce

There is tough competition in the commerce stream every year. DU has received the highest number of applications and the best of four in commerce includes business studies, accounts and English. This time, the highest number of 8,024 students have scored 100 percent marks in business studies. In this way, the cutoff for commerce courses in the top colleges of DU will remain high.

On the other hand, the competition will increase in Political Science Honours in Arts. Because if we look at the highest scores, Political Science is at second place and then comes History. This time the cutoff may increase a bit in Arts courses as well. On the other hand, in Science courses, there are less high scorers in Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

Highlights of CUET Result 2024

  • This time NTA conducted the exam in hybrid mode for the first time. 15 subjects were given offline exams and 48 subjects were given in CBT i.e. computer test mode.
  • There were 13.47 lakh registrations. Out of which 11.13 lakh appeared. There were 99 question papers and a total of 59110 questions were used. There were 1195 subject experts and 565 translators.
  • 519283 female candidates and 594324 male candidates appeared in the exam.
  • The maximum number of candidates who appeared for the exam was 8.22 lakh in English, 5.61 lakh in Chemistry and 5.30 lakh in Physics. Out of 63 subjects, 62 were of 200 marks and one general test was of 250 marks. The exam was held in 379 cities and there were centres in 26 foreign cities as well.
  • 1203 candidates were retested, out of which only 288 appeared.
  • Due to the delay in the results, many students have taken admission in private and foreign universities. At the same time, many universities are also considering whether to follow CUET next time or not?

Universities will also now release cutoffs based on NTA scores. This time NTA had claimed to release the results on June 30, but the results came on July 28. Questions were raised on the role of NTA in many exams including medical entrance exam.
