New Delhi. Jamaica’s legendary sprinter Usain Bolt says that cricket is in his blood and he has inherited this passion from his father. Bolt’s favorite format is T20. Bolt, who has won 8 gold medals in the Olympics, wanted to become a fast bowler during his childhood days in Jamaica. Bolt’s dream of joining cricket, the ambassador of the ICC T20 World Cup to be held from next month, has finally come true in some form.

Usain Bolt said in a phone interview to PTI from New York, ‘I have grown up watching cricket. My father has been fond of cricket and still is. It’s in my blood. I am joining cricket as an ambassador which is fantastic. My dream of becoming a cricketer did not come true but being the ambassador of the T20 World Cup is great. Bolt, the 100 and 200 meter world record holder, has achieved many achievements in his seven-year career. Bolt, who has been traveling the world for the last few months to fulfill his passion for music and football, did not get a chance to watch cricket and IPL on TV.

‘I watch T20 matches’
He said, ‘I haven’t been able to watch that much cricket but whenever I get a chance, I watch T20 matches. This is my favorite format. In this you have to be strong, fast and expert in making good strategies. The magic of both Test and ODI can be seen in this. T20 and ODI are still popular in West Indies. People don’t like test cricket that much. It is related to the speed of the game. It’s fun to watch a big hitter like Andre Russell. T20 cricket is very popular in West Indies. Wasim Akram’s inswinging yorker is also included in his memories of cricket from his childhood days.

‘There is no match for Kohli’
According to Usain Bolt, ‘Wasim Akram was my favorite in childhood. Because of the inswinging yorker. Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose were also there. Like my father, I was a West Indies supporter but I also liked Sachin Tendulkar. He and Brian Lara are part of my childhood memories. When asked about current cricketers, he said that there is no match to Virat Kohli.
