Congress learned a lesson from Haryana’s defeat, party will change team for social equations, know what is the plan

New Delhi: Congress has suffered a big setback in the Haryana Assembly elections. After this defeat, the party will have to face the difficult task of electing a new leader. Through these new leaders, the party will have to show that it has learned from its mistakes. Congress has realized that it needs to expand its social circle. The party has repeatedly received evidence that its support is limited only to the Jat and Jatav communities. At the same time, other communities – such as Yadavs, Punjabis and Brahmins are moving away from it.

Hooda’s strategy did not work

The defeat under the leadership of Bhupinder Singh Hooda has reminded the party of this. The party already knew about this, but did not pay attention to it. Strategists felt that issues related to the common people – such as livelihood, governance and aspirations – would outweigh the social equations. he/she hoped that because of these issues people would vote against the ruling BJP.

Consideration will have to be given to electing new leaders

Congress will choose its new leaders very thoughtfully. For both the posts of party president and legislature party leader, such people will be selected who can connect other communities with the party. But there are two big challenges due to which it has become difficult to take a decision. The first challenge is that the party cannot completely ignore its old team. Although Congress lost, it got equal number of votes as BJP and also got 37 seats. In such a situation, if the party angers its old supporters, it may suffer losses.

The second challenge is that even if the big leaders of the party are ready to compromise, it will not be easy to field new faces. The party will have to find such leaders who have their own identity and who are not made to stand only for show. The party does not want such proxies which are set up only to woo other communities. The party does not want such proxies which are made just for show.
