New Delhi. Kolkata Knight Riders has become the first team to reach the playoffs of IPL 2024. For the first time after the year 2021, KKR team was successful in getting the ticket for playoff. The team is currently performing like a unit. While openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narayan are doing wonders in batting, in bowling world champion bowlers Mitchell Starc, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty and young pace bowler Harshit Rana are making waves. Everyone is impressed with the way 22-year-old right-arm fast bowler Harshit has bowled this season. It seems as if Harshit is not throwing a ball with his hands but is throwing a ball of fire.

This season of IPL, Harshit Rana has taken 16 wickets in 10 matches, in which 3 wickets for 24 runs has been his best bowling. Harshit is the discovery of IPL 2024 who is continuously creating fear in the hearts of the batsmen with his killer bowling. In the do-or-die match against Mumbai Indians, Harshit bowled brilliantly in a moment of pressure. He successfully defended 22 runs in the last over. Harshit turned the match towards KKR by dismissing Naman Dheer and Tilak Verma in the last over. He spent only 3 runs in the last over and took 2 wickets.

Harshit Rana is the uncapped bowler who bowls the fastest ball in the KKR team. Earlier he was known for fast bowling but this season he is bowling with line length, swing and variation which is becoming difficult for the batsmen to face. He is continuously bowling at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour. He has become an integral part of the KKR team. The captain is continuously including him in the playing eleven. For the last over in the match against Mumbai Indians, Shreyas could have gone to Australian pacer Mitchell Starc who had one over left but the KKR captain expressed confidence in Harshit.

Harshit Rana’s IPL career
Harshit Rana, who plays domestic cricket for Delhi, was added by KKR in the year 2022 as a replacement for the injured Rasikh Salam Dar. KKR had added him for their base price of Rs 20 lakh. That season he got a chance to play 2 matches in which he was successful in taking one wicket. In the year 2023, Harshit got a chance to play 6 matches for KKR in which he took 5 wickets. Against Mumbai Indians, he took 2 wickets for 34 runs in 3 overs.
