Canada increases the tension of Indian students, government is asking for marks and attendance details, but why?

Canada Student Visa Rules: Students studying in Canada are receiving an email from the Canadian government, asking for details of their marks and attendance. Indian students are very nervous after receiving these emails and they are calling the agents in India who had made arrangements for their study in Canada. In an email from ‘Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada’ (IRCC) of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government, study permits and education records have been sought from students.

These emails are being asked by IRCC at a time when the student visa of most of the students is valid for more than two years. In fact, the government has started an initiative under which ‘Designated Learning Institutions’ (DLIs) and students are expected to follow strict rules of immigration. The government is checking whether immigration laws and education rules are being followed through DLIs and students. DLIs are institutions where foreign students study.

What did the students say?

Speaking to The Indian Express, a student who received the email said, “The email is like a formal enquiry, asking students to provide proof that they are following the academic and immigration rules to study in Canada. If any If the student is not answering correctly or is not presenting sufficient evidence, it means that the student’s study permit may be canceled and they may be sent back to their country. May go.”

Another student said, “We are worried, because these strict measures mean increased pressure to comply with academic and immigration rules. Many of us now feel that if we accidentally or intentionally skip classes or DLIs changed. If we don’t tell IRCC about this, our future in Canada may be in danger.”

Another student studying in Canada said, “However, we are being advised that there is no need to panic. Even though we have changed DLIs without informing the government, we should still not worry. This is because We have to prove that we are pursuing our studies in the new institute and our record in studies is also good.” At present, students are being advised to respond to emails immediately.

To whom is Canada sending emails?

According to education consultants, emails are usually being received by those students who have changed their college or course without informing IRCC. Changing DLIs is allowed in Canada, but it is also necessary to inform IRCC. Emails are being sent to students whose academic performance is not good, attendance is low, have failed in exams, have been expelled from college or have dropped out of college.

Jalandhar-based Education Tirath Singh said, “In the past, some Canadian education agents have taken advantage of the relaxed rules to change DLIs. Students who do this do not need to take classes every day and are able to focus more on work. Some There are colleges which also encourage this type of work. However, Canada has now tightened the rules. This step has been taken to obtain a new study permit. Study permits cannot be misused and students can truly prioritize their studies.”
