Bhojpuri film ‘Lachminiya’ is a strong slap on casteism, warning to discriminators, change your thinking


Director of the film ‘Lachminiya’ Ritesh S Kumar has made a strong comment on casteism through his/her film. he/she said, ‘Sometimes our caste makes us ashamed.’ This film criticizes the dirty systems of the society by questioning the caste-based mentality. This film is made in Bihari Hindi language. Director of the film ‘Lachminiya’ Ritesh S Kumar while sharing his/her concerns about the film said, ‘The film ‘Lachminiya’ exposes the deep roots of casteism, which are still present in our society. This film is not only a medium of entertainment, but it is an attempt to bring forward those evils of our society, which are usually ignored.’

What is the film ‘Lachhminiya’ about?

The lead actor of the film, Sintu Singh Sagar said, ‘Our film shows how the worm of casteism works at every level of society and how it affects the lives of people from lower castes. Through the film, we want to give the message that we have to stand up against these social evils and move towards an equal society.’ Ritesh S Kumar expressed hope that ‘Lachminiya’ will be successful in making the audience aware and it will play an important role in bringing positive change in the society.

Cast of the film ‘Lachhminiya’

The film ‘Lachminiya’ is made under the banner of Filmeniya Film Factory and Natarang Entertainment, and its main actors are Tanushree Chatterjee, Sintu Singh Sagar. Its producer is Ajitabh Tiwari and the director is Ritesh S Kumar. The film shows how feudal people have an evil eye on the daughters-in-law and daughters of lower castes and take undue advantage of them whenever they get the chance. When someone protests, his/her voice is suppressed and a conspiracy is hatched to eliminate those voices that are not suppressed.

Shooting took place in Bihar

‘Lachminiya’ has been shot in Lakhisarai district of Bihar and the film is now ready to be screened at film festivals. Director Ritesh S Kumar said that the film will raise questions on some dirty systems of society, which challenges the casteist mentality.
