Article 370 and LOC trade dominate Jammu and Kashmir elections, BJP is cornering Congress on this issue


New Delhi : The activities of Jammu Kashmir assembly elections have intensified. The two main parties of Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference and PDP have also released their manifesto. Article 370 and LOC trade are being talked about the most in the elections. While both National Conference and PDP have promised to restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in their manifesto, BJP is cornering these parties as well as Congress on this issue. PDP has promised in its manifesto that it will work to restore Article 370. Along with this, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, while releasing the manifesto, said that I request the Union Home Minister to resume trade across the LOC (Line of Control).

The fight over Article 370 intensifies

National Conference has also made these promises. On behalf of BJP, Home Minister Amit Shah said that Article 370 will never be restored in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP has also asked Congress whether it agrees with the manifesto of National Conference regarding Article 370. Because Congress and National Conference have announced an alliance. It remains to be seen whether Article 370 will be mentioned in Congress’ manifesto or not.

BJP is counting the benefits of removing Article 370

On one hand, while the National Conference and PDP are seeking votes in the name of restoring Article 370, the BJP is seeking votes on the work of removing Article 370. BJP leaders are counting the benefits of removing Article 370 and are cornering the opposition parties by calling the trade from Pakistan through the LOC a step to strengthen the ecosystem of terrorists. A BJP leader said that we will bring out a pamphlet in which we will tell people what positive changes have happened in Jammu and Kashmir since the removal of Article 370, and will also tell how this decision was in favor of women.

When are the elections in Jammu and Kashmir, know the schedule

Jammu Kashmir assembly elections are to be held in three phases. Voting will be held on 18, 25 September and 1 October and the results will be declared on 4 October. There are 43 assembly seats in Jammu and 47 in Kashmir. The last elections were held here in 2014 and then there were 87 assembly seats. BJP won 25 seats in which PDP won 28 seats. National Conference won 15 seats and Congress won 12 seats.
