Action on Mumbai’s 10th, Hardik Pandya banned from first match in IPL 2025


Mumbai. Mumbai Indians team had to leave after disappointing performance in the Indian Premier League. The team which started the tournament with a defeat had to face defeat in the last league match also. This season, Mumbai Indians made Hardik Pandya the captain of the team in place of Rohit Sharma. Out of 14, the team was able to win only 4 matches and after the defeat in the last match, BCCI along with imposing a fine of lakhs on the captain, also imposed a ban of one match.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been suspended for one match and fined Rs 30 lakh for his third offense of slow overrate in this season of IPL. Mumbai’s campaign this season ended with the last league match against Lucknow Super Giants on Friday, which means Pandya will not be able to play the first match in the next season. Earlier, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was also banned for one match.

“Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined for slow overrate during the IPL 2024 match against Lucknow Supergiants at the Wankhede Stadium on May 17,” a media release said. This was Mumbai Indians’ third offense of slow over-rate under the IPL code of conduct, hence Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 30 lakh and suspended for the next match.

Impact player Rohit Sharma and other members of the team have been fined 50 percent of the match fee or Rs 12 lakh, whichever is less.
