Pakistani security forces abduct youth in Balochistan’s Kech district: Report

Pakistani security forces have reportedly abducted another youth from Balochistan’s Kech district after raiding a house on Thursday.

Balochistan Post has identified the kidnapped man as Balach Hasil, who was forcibly captured by security forces during a raid in Hothabad area of Tump in Kech district.

According to eyewitnesses, Balach, son of Hasil and a resident of Hothabad, was taken from his/her home by Pakistani forces without any explanation or formal charges. his/her current whereabouts are unknown, raising serious concerns about his/her safety and well-being, Balochistan Post reports.

Residents have demanded an immediate investigation into the disappearance and the safe return of Balach. Activists have condemned the incident and highlighted the practice of enforced disappearances in the region.

Earlier, another case of enforced disappearance was reported in Gwadar, where a man from Do-Beast Panjah was forcibly detained by Pakistani security forces. PANK, the human rights wing of the Baloch National Movement, also condemned the kidnapping.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and international organizations have repeatedly called for an investigation into these abductions, but accountability remains unclear, Balochistan Post reported. Both the United Nations and Amnesty International have raised concerns about the widespread and systematic nature of these human rights violations. The families of the disappeared continued to suffer for years, constantly demanding answers through protests, sit-ins and appeals to the authorities.

The missing include a large number of workers, students and civilians. These disappearances have sparked widespread anger and demands for justice, with families increasingly seeking information about the whereabouts of their loved ones. Such human rights violations have heightened tensions in the region, stoking local anger and strengthening demands for accountability.

Enforced disappearances have become a serious issue in Balochistan, with cases increasing daily. Despite ongoing documentation of these kidnappings, little has been done to address the issue or bring those responsible to justice.
