Khalistani separatist’s threat to Indian Ambassador to America, Foreign Ministry told what India is doing

New Delhi: The Indian government has taken ‘seriously’ the latest threat by Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu against Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra. The Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the issue has been raised with officials in Washington. In a recent video, Pannu threatened that Kwatra is on the radar of pro-Khalistan Sikhs in America.

raised before the US government

Khalistani separatists claimed that Kwatra is allegedly in touch with Russian officials, who are providing inputs to Indian intelligence agencies on Khalistani networks in the United States. “Whenever such threats are made, we take them very seriously and raise them with the US government,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said during the weekly media briefing in New Delhi on Friday.

In this particular case also, we have raised it with the US government and we hope that the United States government will take our security concerns seriously and act on it. Former Foreign Secretary Kwatra had taken over as India’s Ambassador to the United States in August this year, replacing Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

Targeting the Indian Embassy

Kwatra’s appointment comes at a time when Khalistani separatists are targeting the Hindu community, Hindu religious places and the Indian Embassy in the US. Khalistanis have been involved in incidents of damaging temples in California and New York, among other places. They also carried out incidents of arson and vandalism at the Indian Embassy in San Francisco.

Several lawmakers, including Thanedar, a Democrat elected to the House of Representatives from the state of Michigan, expressed concern over the ‘significant increase’ in attacks on Hindus and their places of worship in the United States. The SHO had recently expressed disappointment with the investigating agency for failing to nab the culprits behind the incidents at the temples and the Consulate.

Identification of suspect difficult

he/she said that it appears that the efforts to attack these places of worship are very organized, causing a lot of fear in the community. Often we have seen that law enforcement, local law enforcement agencies get involved in these investigations but rarely any suspect is identified, and these investigations lead nowhere.
