In the year 2022, the couple filed for divorce. Some time ago, Seema revealed in a podcast why she decided to divorce Sohail. She had said that many people think that the reason for our divorce is some other woman, but the truth is that this decision of divorce was mine.

‘When two people are in a situation where they are both not happy’

In this conversation, Seema said, ‘When two people are in a situation where both of them are not happy, when there is constant fighting, then the children always suffer. You do not realize that those times of your life pass so quickly. Your children grow up quickly and you do not even realize when you have harmed the children.’ So, this was a well thought out decision for her.

Seema further told that she and Sohail were living separately for many years. She said, ‘Nirvan was in school then and I used to talk to him/her often. Then he/she went to the university and said that Mama, I am fine now, you can move on.
