Special Correspondent, New Delhi: After a satisfactory performance in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress will now start working on the organization and strategy for the states where elections are to be held. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will start strategic meetings on this issue from June 24. The party will start this strategy with Jharkhand. The party’s strategic meeting for Maharashtra will be held on June 25 and the leaders of Haryana will be met on June 26. The strategic meeting for Jammu and Kashmir will be held on June 27. Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand at the end of this year.

Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal said in a post on ‘X’, “Carrying forward the momentum created in our favor, we are dedicated to ensure a spectacular victory in the elections to be held in three states. To accelerate our efforts, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will hold strategic meetings with senior leaders of the poll-bound states.”

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge met the party’s Andhra Pradesh unit president Y.S. Sharmila at her residence. Sharing pictures of this meeting, Kharge said that he/she is strongly committed to re-strengthening the party organization in Andhra Pradesh. Every Congress worker should work hard and become the voice of the people. Sharmila has been entrusted with the responsibility of reviving the Congress in Andhra Pradesh after the defeat in the recent elections.

Assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand

Sharmila, sister of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, briefed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party General Secretary K. C. Venugopal about the plans to strengthen the party’s organisational machinery and regain Congress’ lost political space in the state. Assembly elections are due in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand later this year. The term of the Maharashtra Assembly ends on November 26, 2024. The term of the Haryana Assembly will end on November 3, 2024. The term of the Jharkhand Assembly ends on January 5, 2025. The Supreme Court has said that elections should be held in Jammu and Kashmir before September 30.
