There can be a good news for Shiva devotees that the doors of the famous Kedarnath Dham of Uttarakhand are going to open in a few days. Every year a crowd of thousands of devotees gather to visit Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, one of the famous Char Dhams of Uttarakhand. According to the information received, this year the doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened from May 10. This season is considered perfect for visiting Charon Dham. Also, booking for their darshan starts well in advance. You will also get tour packages here on IRCTC website. However, those who are going to visit Kedarnath Dham for the first time, they should first gather information about the expenses, accommodation and weather here.

If you are planning to visit Kedarnath Dham Baba this time, then you will have to take leave from office for almost a whole week. By going here you will definitely find a crowd of Baba’s devotees every day. This journey may take you at least 4-5 days. To reach here, you can go by rail or road till Gaurikund, but after this there is no road facility till Kedarnath. This is a total route of 18 kilometers which may take you 18 hours to trek. Now you can also get helicopter facility here.

How to reach Kedarnath Dham?
To reach Kedarnath, you can easily get a bus, flight or train from Delhi or any other city to Dehradun. From Delhi, you can also go to Kedarnath by road, the distance of the Dham from here is about 466 kilometers. Direct train service is not yet available for Kedarnath. You can reach Dehradun even in low budget by bus or train. From here you can go to Kedarnath by bus or helicopter. It may take you a whole day to go from Delhi to Kedarnath.

How to book a helicopter?
If you are not able to walk much on foot, then you can book a helicopter from Dehradun to Kedarnath. For this you will have to go to the site mentioned here, and your booking will be done easily. You can book helicopter from IRCTC’s www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in sitting at home.

How much does it cost to visit Kedarnath Dham?
You can easily reach Dehradun from Delhi for 300 to 1000 rupees. A bus ticket from Dehradun to Gaurikund will cost you around Rs 500. There is also a direct bus service from Delhi to Gaurikund, the fare of which ranges between Rs 500 to Rs 1000. If you are taking heli service then per person the round trip ticket from Sirsi will be Rs 5498, the ticket from Fata to Kedarnath Dham will be Rs 5500 and the ticket from Guptkashi will be Rs 7740. Helicopter service is out of the budget of many people, so in such a situation you can book a palanquin or even a horse to go from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham.
