Interesting History of Kishangarh

This charming place in Rajasthan, which has now become a famous tourist destination, is surrounded not only by nature but also by man-made things. It all started when the residents of Kishangarh started getting annoyed with the accumulated garbage. Then in 2005, RICCO and Kishangarh Marble Association decided to collect the marble waste at one place and create a disposing area for the marble slurry.

At that time, 50-60 feet deep wells were dug to drain the garbage, but later the garbage accumulated so much that it formed the shape of a mountain, which started looking like white peaks and mountains covered with white snow. Many film shoots happen here

This place is known as Moonland of Rajasthan, which is also known as “Kashmir of Rajasthan” or “Switzerland of Rajasthan”. Coming here, you will feel like you are in a small heaven on earth. This place will look very unique, the magical marble world here looks so interesting, as if some place has been painted with white paint.

Over the years, the dumping yard has become one of the hot spots for shooting movies, short films or musical videos. Over the past 5-6 years, many Rajasthani and Punjabi songs have been shot here. Entry fee is free

​The pollution here is a bit high, so dust can enter the mouth and nose. It would be better to wear a mask while staying here. The timing to visit here is from 10 am to 6 pm. There is no entry fee here, but yes, you will have to take a token before going inside.

How to reach and best time to visit

​Kishangarh place is 30 km from Ajmer and 103 km from Jaipur. You can reach here in half an hour from Ajmer and 2 hours from Jaipur. If you want to take your vehicle inside, then only light vehicles can go inside. Such vehicles are allowed to enter the dumping yard up to the height of the mountains. The best time to visit this beautiful place is before 11:00 am or after 4:00 pm to watch the sunset. The best time to watch sunset is in the winter months.
