‘You will feel embarrassed’ Did one advice from Harbhajan Singh change Virat Kohli’s fortunes?

New Delhi. Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the best cricketers in cricket. Virat has played many match-winning innings for India. Virat was once in the West Indies and was very upset about his/her performance. Then Harbhajan Singh told him/her that if he/she did not score 10,000 runs, he/she would feel ashamed of himself. Harbhajan Singh himself has revealed this in a podcast.

In a podcast with Taruwar Kohli, Harbhajan revealed that after Virat Kohli’s first Test series, he/she had lost confidence in himself. Harbhajan said, “If I tell you something about his/her Test cricket, in the beginning we were in the West Indies. On that tour, Fidel Edwards (former West Indies fast bowler) troubled him/her a lot. he/she was probably out LBW or on a short ball. he/she was getting out again and again, so he/she was very disappointed.”

Harbhajan further said, “Virat had doubts about himself, he/she asked ‘Am I good?’ I told him/her ‘If you are not able to score 10000 runs then you will embarrass yourself. You have the ability to score 10000 runs in Test cricket and if you are not able to do so then it will be your fault. But after that, what Virat Kohli did is different from all others.’

Virat needs no introduction today. Today he/she has scored more than 8000 runs in Test cricket, more than 13000 runs in ODIs and more than 4000 runs in T20. Virat has scored a total of 80 centuries in all three formats. he/she has 50 centuries in ODIs, 29 in Tests and the only century he/she has scored in T20 is against Afghanistan.
