‘You listen to me, I am in charge of this court room…’ When the Chief Justice warned the lawyer during the hearing of the NEET case

New Delhi: Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud took a tough stand on the interference of a lawyer during the hearing of the NEET case and warned him/her that if he/she argued in the middle without waiting for his/her turn, then he/she would show him/her the way out of the court. Actually, while the hearing of the NEET case was going on, a lawyer tried to argue in front of the Chief Justice’s bench without his/her turn coming. Then the Chief Justice warned him/her that he/she would not allow interference in this way. he/she would not allow the lawyer to dictate him/her. Lawyer MJ Nedumpara kept asking for permission to argue.

Chief Justice gave a strict warning

During this time, he/she was told that he/she would be given a chance after the arguments of senior advocate Narendra Hooda. But after Nedumpara repeatedly demanded arguments, Chief Justice Chandrachud asked Nedumpara to sit down. Otherwise, we will throw him/her out of the court. The Chief Justice said in a strict tone that we are warning you. Then Nedumpara said that if this is the case, he/she will leave on his/her own. But during this time, he/she kept complaining that he/she was not given a chance. Then the Chief Justice said that please call the security. We will ask them to throw him/her out.

The Chief Justice said that you are not standing in the streets and talking. You listen to me, I am the in-charge of this court room. Then Nedumpara said that we are leaving the court but this is unfair. Then the Chief Justice again said that Mr. (Advocate) please keep quiet or else we will pass some order which will not look good. You sit down. If you want to leave, you can go, it is your wish. Nedumpara himself went out of the court. Then after some time he/she came back and said in front of the court that I am sorry but I did not do anything wrong and then presented his/her argument when his/her turn came.
