Yes, we were proven wrong, after the election results PK accepted his/her mistake and also told the reason for BJP’s loss

New Delhi : For the first time after the Lok Sabha election results, election strategist Prashant Kishor has admitted his/her mistake. In an interview, PK said that people like us made a mistake regarding the estimate of BJP’s seats. On being asked about being surprised by the Lok Sabha election results, Prashant Kishor said that it would not be right to say that he/she was surprised. Prashant Kishor said that even though we have been proven wrong about BJP’s performance, BJP leader and PM Narendra Modi remain the dominant force in Indian politics.

Brand Modi has become weak

Prashant Kishor said that people like me have been proven wrong in predicting the number of seats won by the BJP. But if you listen to what we are saying, it is that there is no pan-India undercurrent in favour of Modi in this election. his/her personal popularity and the intensity of support for Brand Modi has decreased. Kishor said that rural distress, unemployment and rising inequality are major issues that concern people at large.

Where did BJP lose?

Regarding BJP’s weak performance compared to the last election, Prashant Kishore said that BJP’s slogan of crossing 400 was incomplete. he/she said that this caused loss to BJP. The slogan of crossing 400 this time was an open slogan. Like, if 400 is crossed, then for whom? Prashant said that the slogan of 2013 had a clear objective, like enough of inflation, this time Modi government. Prashant Kishore said that but we also said that despite these things, there was no widespread anger against Modi.

There was no significant decrease in vote share

Prashant Kishor said that this is coupled with the fact that there is no organised opposition as one would like to see, more or less the status quo will continue. PK admitted that he/she and other pollsters were “very wrong” in their estimation, but pointed out that “in terms of vote share, the BJP has got almost the same number of votes as last time. Yes, we made a mistake in realising the status quo in vote share as well as seats,” Prashant Kishor said.
