This tweet has come from a Twitter handle named South Asia Index. It has been claimed in this tweet that ‘Xiaomi is going to Pakistan with its business in India.’
The tweet quoted sources as saying that Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is shifting its smartphone manufacturing from India to Pakistan due to the seizure of its assets by the Indian government. It has been written in this tweet that due to the targeting of Xiaomi by the Government of India, the company has almost stopped its operation.

Now a reply has also come from Xiaomi’s side on this matter. Responding to the tweet of South Asia Index, Xiaomi India has replied that, ‘The information given in this tweet is completely wrong and baseless. Xiaomi entered India in 2014 and started its Make in India journey in less than a year i.e. in January 2015. Today 99% of our smartphones and 100% of our Smart TVs are manufactured in India. It is further written in the tweet of Xiaomi India that, as a global company, we will take all necessary measures to protect our reputation and people from false news.
Let us tell you that the ED had found Xiaomi guilty of tampering in tax and hence ordered the seizure of funds of Rs 5,551 crore on 29 April 2022. This order has received the approval of the FEMA Competent Authority. Because of this, many wrong news in the relationship between Xiaomi and India are also becoming viral on social media.
