Now his/her effort will be to convert this lead into victory. If South Africa is successful in this attempt, then the equation of the WTC final will change to a great extent.

South African team is on Bangladesh tour these days. The 2-match test series between the two teams started on Monday. Bangladesh tour is very important for South Africa from the point of view of WTC final. Actually, South Africa has to play three series before the WTC final. One of them is from Bangladesh. Apart from this, it has to host Pakistan and Sri Lanka for a two-match series each. That means the African team will have to play 6 test matches before the WTC final. If South Africa wins 5 of these matches, it can leave India and Australia behind in the WTC points table. Even if the African team wins 4 matches, it can make it to the top-2 teams.

India is currently at number one in the WTC points table. India has 98 points and 68.06 winning percentage. Australia (62.50 winning percent) is at second place, Sri Lanka (55.56 winning percent) is at third place and New Zealand (44.44 winning percent) is at fourth place. After these, England (43.06 winning percent) is at fifth place and South Africa (38.89 winning percent) is at sixth place. If we look at the points table, after India and Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and England have more chances of playing the final. But the reality is something else. In fact, South Africa has to play 4 out of six Test matches at home and this is what separates it from other teams.

India’s chances of being on top
If the Indian team wins the next two matches against New Zealand. After this, win 3 matches against Australia and remain at the first position in the WTC points table. But if India wins only 4 out of the next 7 Test matches and South Africa wins 5 out of 6 Test matches, then the situation will change. If this happens, South Africa will move ahead. The WTC final is to be played in England in June next year.
