WPL Final: Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals in the final of Women’s Premier League 2025. Mumbai captured the title for the second time in this way. Earlier, he/she won the title in the year 2023.

New Delhi. The final of Women’s Premier League Final was played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in Mumbai. In this match, Mumbai Indians registered a stunning win by 8 runs. This is the second title of Mumbai Indians, before that he/she won the title in 2023. Playing the third consecutive final, Delhi team could score 140 runs chasing a target of 150 runs.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first. When the Mumbai team came out to bat first, they scored 149 runs in 20 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur scored a brilliant 66 runs. Harmanpreet hit nine fours and two sixes in 44 balls. he/she did not find any good partner at the other end, so that the team could reach this score only after a slow start. Apart from him/her, Nat Cyver Brant contributed 30 runs.
But when it seemed that the team of Mumbai Indians was moving towards making a big score, then the left -handed spinner Shri Charani caught the Cyver Brant on the square leg which reached the pavilion in an attempt to sweep the slog. In this way, Jonasen’s double shock in the 16th over led to 118 runs for six wickets for three wickets, which increased the pressure on Harmanpreet.
For Delhi Capitals, Marajane Cap took the wickets of both Mumbai Indians’ openers Haley Mathews (03) and Yastika Bhatia (08) for 11 runs in four overs. Left-arm spinner Mr. Charani took 43 runs and Jose Jonasen took two wickets each for 26 runs. Anabel Sutherland took 1 wicket as Harmanpreet. Mumbai’s score in the powerplay was 20 runs for 2 wickets.
The start of Delhi Capitals was poor in the final match. Delhi lost the wickets of captain Meg Lanning and Shefali Verma quickly. Lanning was dismissed after scoring 13 runs, while Shefali returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs. Jess Jonasen and Annabella Sutherland also lost their wickets quickly. Marizen Cap and Jemimah Rodrigues raised expectations for Delhi. But she could not bat for long.
While Marizen Cap played a brilliant innings of 40 runs, Jemimah scored 30 runs. The Met Skevier Brant took the best 3 wickets for Mumbai. he/she sent 3 players to the pavilion. Nikki Prasad scored 25 runs in 23 balls but could not win the team. In this way, Delhi had to face defeat in the final for the third time.
