New Delhi. The auction date for the third season of the Women’s Premier League has been announced. The auction of players for this T20 Women’s Premier League of India will be held in Bangalore on 15 December 2024. Names of 120 players have been shortlisted for the auction. These include 91 Indians, 29 foreigners and three players from associate countries. A total of 82 ‘uncapped’ (those who have not played international matches) Indian players and eight ‘uncapped’ foreign players have registered for the auction.
Gujarat Giants will participate in the auction with the highest amount of Rs 4.4 crore. They need four players including two foreign players from the mini auction. UP Warriors need to fill three positions, including one overseas player, while Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals need four players each.
Gujarat can include Sneh Rana with itself
West Indies star all-rounder Deandra Dottin is one of the biggest names in the auction. Recently, he/she broke his/her international retirement and made a comeback in the T20 World Cup. She had signed a contract with Gujarat Titans for the first edition of WPL but later due to disputes, she separated from this franchise. Among the Indian capped players, Sneh Rana can be added by Gujarat Titans, who had released him/her.
