Would Ashwin want to become a selector in future?

New Delhi. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin told why he/she does not want to replace BCCI Selection Committee Chairman Ajit Agarkar. There is a lot of talk about keeping stars like Sanju Samson, Karun Nair and Ruturaj Gaikwad out of India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad. Agarkar is being accused of ignoring cricketers who score runs in the domestic circuit.

Giving his/her opinion on the situation on his/her YouTube channel, Ashwin sympathized with Agarkar and said, “I mean, I don’t want to be the chairman of the selection committee or the team manager or be in this decision-making position. “

Ashwin further said, “If both Gill and Ruturaj score runs in the upcoming IPL season, then it will be a big problem for the selectors. As fans of the Indian cricket team, we are blessed with so many talented players. But moving forward, we have to ensure that whatever players perform well, we have to pay full attention to them.”

Ashwin further said, “We have to give some importance to those players who perform well under pressure. Because in today’s cricket there are many talented players who time the ball very well. Let us tell you that before the announcement of the Champions Trophy team, many people’s eyes were on Karun Nair, who played many match-winning innings for Vidarbha in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. 33-year-old Nair had scored 779 runs in eight innings. But despite this, his/her place in the Indian team for the upcoming ICC event was not confirmed.
