World Heart Day: O heart, please be careful! Heart disease is highest in India, youth are also becoming victims

New Delhi: India is currently standing at the mouth of the volcano of heart disease. India has the highest number of heart diseases in the world and it will remain a major cause of deaths in India in the future too. It is a matter of great concern that the working youth of the country are also falling victim to heart disease. Blood pressure and diabetes at a young age are pushing them towards heart disease. Cardiologist Dr. Rakesh Yadav of AIIMS, the country’s largest medical institute, said that preventive cardiology is the need of the hour, there is a need to work on it the most, only then it can help in reducing this epidemic.
Heart disease is increasing among the youth. Cardiologist Dr. Rakesh Yadav said that along with blood pressure and diabetes, we are now at the forefront in the world in heart disease also. Our youth, who are the productive generation, are also falling victim to heart disease. Due to this, smoking, tobacco consumption, lack of physical work or exercise, weight gain, obesity and stress are pushing the youth of the country towards heart disease. There is still time for the youth to think about this and change their lifestyle.

Bad lifestyle is the biggest villain
The doctor said that the trend of smoking has increased rapidly among the youth. Apart from this, consumption of junk food has increased. 25 to 30 percent of school children are becoming obese. Due to this he/she is also suffering from diabetes at a young age. At the same time, stress also affects it indirectly. When someone’s stress increases, it directly impacts people’s daily life. Due to which cholesterol level increases. Once cholesterol accumulates in the heart tube, it cannot become normal. It can be controlled only with medicine.

Need for preventive cardiology
Doctor Yadav said that all the institutions around the world are currently working on preventive cardiology. This is the only way with the help of which the risk of heart disease can be reduced. We have to work on this from the beginning. First of all, do not smoke, avoid junk food, maintain good eating habits, eat less but eat frequently, use more fruits and vegetables, do not consume saturated fat, eat less salt and sugar, consume variety of food. Do it.

I always say that do not wait for heart disease, take initiative to prevent this disease in advance. Prevention is the best solution. Once heart disease occurs, this disease can be controlled with medicine, but not eradicated, hence the youth need to pay immediate attention to it.

Increase in cases after CovidDoctor Yadav said that the possibility of sudden cardiac arrest and heart attack has increased after Covid. Actually, this virus has affected every part of the body and is still affecting it. Covid has affected heart disease in four to five ways. Firstly, the heart muscles have been directly damaged. Secondly, the risk of blood clotting has increased. Third, the autonomous function of people has been impaired. After Covid, it was found that suddenly the heart beat increases, when they stand, the heart beat increases. Which is called inappropriate tachycardia syndrome. Postural hypertension means blood pressure and heart beat increase while standing. In a way, Covid has affected the heart in four to five ways and its effect is also being seen in Long Covid.
