Work Experience, ECA…What to include in the application form for admission to foreign universities?

How to Prepare for Study Abroad: The craze of studying abroad is increasing rapidly in India. At present 13 lakh Indian students are studying across the world. According to the data of the Ministry of External Affairs, these students are studying in universities of 108 countries of the world. For students thinking of studying abroad, getting admission in their favorite college is like a dream come true. Generally it is seen that if someone has good marks, he/she gets admission easily.
However, now the admission conditions are gradually changing, due to which universities are not giving admission only on the basis of good marks, but they are also looking at whether the student has done any work outside the classroom. More priority in admission is given to those who have focused on Extra Curricular Activity (ECA). In such a situation, let us know that if someone wants to take admission in a foreign university, then what kind of information should be there in his/her application form.

What details should be kept in the application form?

Recommendation Letter: Most institutions abroad want a good recommendation letter along with the college application. In such a situation, you should try that your recommendation letter comes from those teachers or professors who have taught you. If you have done a job then you should get a recommendation letter from your boss.

Extracurricular Activity: If a student performs well in extracurricular activities, his/her chances of admission increase. The reason for this is that universities do not select students only on the basis of their good marks, but they also want that the candidate has done some work outside the classroom. Like social work or helping people by joining any society.

Essay: It is very important to have a good essay for admission in college. It doesn’t matter what you want to say, but it matters how you say it. In your essay, you should write such things that the admission officer knows what kind of person you are. What are you passionate about and what qualities do you possess?

GPA Score: There are many other factors for college admission, including having a good GPA. Having good marks is important for admission, but students also need to understand that while good grades are more important, it does not mean that the chosen subject should be ignored.

Duration of study: Many universities in America, Canada and Australia have a minimum education requirement of 16 years. This usually means twelve years of schooling and four years of graduate degree. When applying to these countries, students should remember that a three-year degree may not be recognized. Therefore, doing a one-year postgraduate degree/diploma can be a better option.

Work Experience: Sometimes work experience is also required to apply for some courses. If your education record is not good then you should focus on gaining professional experience. Work experience can prove to be an advantage for admission.
