New Delhi: The uproar by Congress and other opposition parties regarding the Adani case in Parliament is increasing daily. Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday. In this meeting, he/she requested to remove the derogatory comments made against him/her from the proceedings. Rahul Gandhi said that the Speaker has assured to look into the matter. Rahul Gandhi says that his/her aim is to run the House smoothly and get it discussed. he/she wants discussion on Adani case on 13 December. he/she said, ‘No matter what they say about me, we want a debate on December 13.’ Rahul Gandhi believes that BJP is running away from discussing the Adani case. he/she insisted that he/she would not drop the issue.

BJP Lok Sabha MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sambit Patra had made serious allegations against Rahul Gandhi on December 5. he/she had linked Rahul Gandhi’s name to Hungarian-American businessman George Soros. The next day Dubey mentioned Soros and OCCRP (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project). he/she had said, ‘Congress’s hand is with Soros. Congress has ties to OCCRP, which gets all its money from the US government and George Soros. Did Rahul Gandhi take money from George Soros for Bharat Jodo trip? On this statement, Congress MPs protested strongly in the House and the House had to be adjourned. Congress MPs wanted to know the status of the breach of privilege notice against Dubey and Patra.

Outside Parliament on Thursday, Priyanka Gandhi reacted to BJP leader Sambit Patra calling Rahul Gandhi a ‘traitor’. he/she said, ‘Those who can call Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi traitors will have no hesitation in calling Rahul Gandhi a traitor. There is nothing new in this. I am proud of my brother, and for him/her nothing is more important than this country. This whole matter has heated up the political atmosphere. Congress is continuously demanding discussion on Adani case, while BJP seems to be avoiding it. It remains to be seen what further stance will be taken in this matter.
