New Delhi. Pakistan’s newly formed white ball cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan is hopeful that the Indian team will tour Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Champions Trophy is to be organized in Pakistan in February-March. There is uncertainty regarding the Indian team’s tour of Pakistan. Due to political reasons, bilateral series have not been played between the two countries for the last few years. Teams of India and Pakistan have been clashing with each other in Asian or ICC tournaments for the last few years. But that too on a neutral venue.

The Indian team has not toured Pakistan since 2008. However, in the meantime, Pakistan team has definitely come on India tour. Last year, Pakistan team had come to India tour to participate in ODI World Cup 2024 where they were given a grand welcome. Rizwan has friendship with many Indian players. he/she does not forget the love he/she received in India. Last time when Pakistan team came to India, they were very impressed with Hyderabadi Biryani. Apart from this, the Pakistan team was happy with the hospitality there.

According to The News International, Mohammad Rizwan said, ‘Pakistan fans love Indian cricket players very much. They will be thrilled to see India in Pakistan. If the Indian team comes to our place, we will welcome them warmly. The Government of India has to decide whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan or not. BCCI always waits for the decision of the Indian government to tour Pakistan. If the Indian government gives permission to Team India to go to Pakistan, then the Indian team will go there.

Indian team has not visited Pakistan even once in 16 years
This has not happened even once in the last 16 years. There are about 4 months left for the Champions Trophy. There is every possibility that the Indian team will not play Pakistan. It would prefer to play under the hybrid model as India played the Asia Cup 2023. However, Pakistan has advised that if India does not want to stay in Pakistan, then after playing the match, they can stay in Chandigarh or Delhi via Lahore.
