Two World Cups in West Indies, Team India performed poorly both times
In fact, West Indies has become the host of the World Cup twice so far (ODI World Cup in 2007 and T20 World Cup in 2010) and both times the performance of Team India has been very poor. In the ODI World Cup 2007, the team had to be eliminated in the group stage itself, while in the Super 8 stage of the 2010 T20 World Cup, its campaign ended with defeats against Australia, West Indies and Sri Lanka. The weak performance of the Indian team in both the World Cups held in West Indies is giving rise to apprehensions in the minds of the fans. Some cricket lovers are considering the World Cup in the Caribbean Islands as ‘unlucky’ for the Indian team. However, there are many fans who hope that the Rohit Sharma brigade will end this myth forever by becoming champions in the T20 World Cup 2024.
