Will the Congress party take a big decision after the defeat in two states? Understand from this decision of UP.

New Delhi: After the crushing defeat in Maharashtra and Haryana, a period of churning is going on in the Congress. Demands for reshuffle in the party organization are continuously being raised. The central leadership is not only busy in discussing this matter, but has also started action. It has started from Uttar Pradesh. On December 6 itself, the party dissolved the state, district, city and block committees of UP with immediate effect. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge approved the dissolution of the committees. This step is being seen from the perspective of major organizational change. It is also being discussed that the party has made preparations for necessary organizational changes in many other states before its 140th foundation day.

Chances of a big decision before the foundation day of the party

28th December is the 140th foundation day of the Congress Party. In such a situation, the party does not have much time left. Just as the position of Congress was looking strong first in Haryana and then in Maharashtra, the atmosphere suddenly changed due to the recent election results. The party suffered a crushing defeat, after which questions started being raised not only on the state units of both the states but also on the central leadership. After poor performance in Haryana and Maharashtra, the party wants to make a fresh strategy. For this, discussions have started on disbanding many state units and making new appointments.

Now accountability will have to be fixed… Kharge’s criticism after the defeat of Haryana and Maharashtra

Committees dissolved in UP, will action be taken in other states also?

If sources are to be believed, the Congress President can make important changes in the state units and hand over responsibilities to new people. Like in Uttar Pradesh, committees have been dissolved to strengthen the party organization. Similarly, there is a possibility of change in other states also. Maharashtra is also among those states where responsibility can be handed over to the new leadership. In-charges, state presidents and committees of many states can be dissolved. There may be an effort to infuse new energy into the organization by giving responsibility to new faces.

Kharge has also said – time to fix accountability

In the first Congress Working Committee meeting held after the crushing defeat of the party and the alliance in Haryana and Maharashtra, Congress President Kharge had bluntly said that now the time has come to fix accountability in the party. There is lack of discipline in the party. Victory cannot be achieved through old style politics. Internal factionalism has become a permanent feeling within the Congress. Kharge also said that lack of mutual unity and statements against each other cause a lot of harm to us.

How will the party leadership strengthen the organization again?

Kharge stressed on discipline in the meeting of the highest policy making body of Congress. he/she clearly said that the party people should be bound by discipline at their level. he/she had pointed out another major shortcoming of the Congress that the party is not able to take advantage of the environment in its favor. In this way, Kharge accepted the weaknesses of the organization but it remains to be seen what the action plan will be.

There is a demand to take many decisions immediately

At present there are many reasons to question the Congress leadership. Like the decisions of the Udaipur Chintan Shivir have not been fully implemented yet. The issue of ignoring the leaders of Group 23 has also been raised from time to time. The role of Priyanka Gandhi, who became MP from Wayanad, is also being discussed. Apart from this, Congress Organization General Secretary KC. Questions are also being raised on Venugopal’s decisions. There is also talk of sending him/her back to Kerala. There is also discussion about Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. he/she is accused of not meeting party workers.

Will Congress be able to make a comeback?

The Congress party is once again going through a difficult phase. When Congress won 99 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it seemed that the party was once again on its way to a comeback. However, within a few months, the crushing defeat in two states exposed the Congress. The party’s position in North India appears weak. It is also being discussed that the party is missing a leader like Ahmed Patel. Now it remains to be seen what steps Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge takes to remove these shortcomings and strengthen the country’s oldest party.
