Will spoil the plans of enemies, once targeted, devastation is certain, indigenous Nag missile Mk 2 is infallible

New Delhi:Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully test-fired the indigenous Nag Missile Mk 2. The test took place on January 13 at the Pokhran Field Range. Nag Mk 2 is a third generation anti-tank missile. It works on ‘fire-and-forget’ technology. Meaning, once the target is hit, the missile itself destroys it. In the test, the missile hit the target with accuracy at both short and long ranges. Along with this, Nag Missile Carrier (Version 2) was also evaluated. Now this entire weapon system is ready to join the Indian Army. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, Indian Army and industry.

The antidote missile is Nag Mk 2

DRDO test-fired Nag Mk 2 missile in Pokhran on Monday, January 13. According to the Defense Ministry, it is a ‘third-generation anti-tank fire-and-forget guided missile’. During testing, the missile accurately destroyed targets at both maximum and minimum ranges. This proves the striking capability of the missile. Defense experts say that ‘Nag Missile Carrier’ (version 2) was also evaluated during the trials. With these successful trials, the complete weapon system is now ready to be inducted into the Indian Army. During three field tests, the missile system accurately destroyed all targets. It proved its firing range.

The Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday that the guided missile was successfully tested at the Pokhran Field Range recently in the presence of senior Indian Army officers. Nag Missile Carrier Version-2 was also field evaluated. With this, the complete weapon system is now ready to be inducted into the Indian Army. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, Indian Army and Industry for the successful testing of the entire weapon system of Nag Mk 2.

Dr Sameer V Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defense Research and Development and Chairman, DRDO also appreciated the efforts of all the stakeholders. he/she thanked everyone for preparing the missile for induction into the Indian Army. Last year, India successfully test-fired Agni 4, a medium-range ballistic missile. The launch was carried out on September 6, 2024 from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha. The launch of ‘Ballistic Missile, Agni 4’ had successfully validated all operational and technical parameters. It was organized under the auspices of the Strategic Forces Command. Nag Mk 2 missile will further increase the strength of the Indian Army. It will help in destroying enemy tanks.
