Will Rohit Sharma make sacrifices for the team, will he/she open from KL and play in the middle order, what do the veterans say?

New Delhi. After creating history in Perth, the Indian team has started preparing for the Adelaide Test. The good news for the Indian team before the Adelaide Test is that regular captain Rohit Sharma has joined the team. Since Rohit’s return, the team’s headache has increased, which is called ‘good headache’ in English. This is a headache regarding the opening of the team. It is believed that with the return of Rohit, the batting order of KL Rahul, who had scored more than 100 runs while opening in the Perth Test, may change again.

Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian team as well as a regular opener, but has been out of form for the last few days. On the other hand, KL Rahul was the only batsman from both the teams in the Perth Test, who made the bowlers sweat in both the innings. he/she scored 26 runs in the first innings and 76 runs in the second innings. Anyone who did not watch the match, after seeing these figures, would say that the second innings was better. But anyone who watched the match knows that when the Perth pitch was on fire on the first day, even scoring 26 runs was not easy.

Rohit should not open on the basis of form

Talking about the interest of the team, Sanjay Manjrekar says in a Cricinfo show, ‘KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal can be India’s best pair in the next Test. Rohit’s form is not good. In such a situation, they can say that they do not need to open because it is us who can drop Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin and can choose Washington Sundar on the basis of form.

But Captain Rohit will not do this…
Taking his/her point further, Sanjay Manjrekar also says that Rohit Sharma hardly takes the initiative to move away from opening. Manjrekar said, ‘This is a very difficult decision, which Rohit has to take. History is proof that Rohit has scored his/her first two Test centuries at number six only. Manjrekar also mentions Cheteshwar Pujara’s playing eleven in the same conversation. Manjrekar says that another option, which Pujara has suggested, is that KL Rahul should bat at number three and Shubman Gill should be moved down the batting order. According to Sanjay, the whole matter is to take maximum advantage of KL Rahul’s technique and current form in the top-3.
