Will Rohit Sharma himself be out before the Sydney Test or will he/she wait for a big decision?

Melbourne. The continuous flops of Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma are creating problems for him/her. his/her decision to open in place of KL Rahul in the Boxing Day Test proved wrong. he/she returned after scoring just 3 runs in the second over. Once again Rohit Sharma was out cheaply and speculations started about his/her future. Now talks are going on whether he/she himself will sit out of the Sydney Test or wait for some tough decision by the team management.

India’s great batsman Sunil Gavaskar said during commentary for ‘7 Cricket’, “It is a difficult time for him/her.” There is still the second innings and two innings of the Sydney Test left. If he/she does not score runs in these three innings, questions will be raised.

After the Indian captain was out for three runs in the first innings of the fourth Test on the short ball of Pat Cummins, questions are being raised as to when he/she will retire from Test cricket. Selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar is in Melbourne and it is possible that both of them may have talked about the future because the Indian team is going through a phase of change.

Rohit Sharma’s form is bad
In the last eight Tests, Rohit has scored only 155 runs at an average of 11.07 in 14 innings. Firstly, he/she is not in form and due to change in the established opening pair in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the balance of the team has also been disturbed. There is speculation that if India fails to qualify for the World Test Championship final, then Sydney will be the last Test of his/her career.

Will Rohit Sharma sit out himself?
Now the question is whether Rohit will keep himself out of the Sydney Test for the team and allow in-form KL Rahul to open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir had thrown himself out once during his/her playing days in the IPL. The question is also that if Ravichandran Ashwin is forced to retire on the grounds that he/she is not among the two first choice spinners abroad. So, shouldn’t the Indian captain be told that he/she is not in the top six in the Test, whose place in the team is confirmed?
