Will MS Dhoni not play in IPL 2025? Will meet CSK officials this month, then decision will be taken


New Delhi. The participation of Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL) is still not decided. A report has said that Dhoni will meet CSK officials this month and convey his/her decision. According to the new rules of BCCI, Dhoni has come under the count of uncapped players.

Cricbuzz report says, “Chennai Super Kings say that MS Dhoni’s participation in the upcoming season is not yet clear. And some officials of the franchise will meet MS Dhoni before taking the decision. Dhoni can hold a meeting with officials in October this month. There are question marks over his/her participation in the 2025 session of IPL.”

CSK signed Dhoni for Rs 6 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2008. he/she has been with the team since that time. Dhoni is the player who has played the most matches in the history of the cash-rich league. he/she has also scored more than 5000 runs. Under his/her captaincy, Chennai Super Kings has played 10 finals. Dhoni resigned from the captaincy before the start of IPL 2024 and handed over the command to Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Dhoni will be included in the count of uncapped players
BCCI recently brought a rule. In which those players will be kept in the list of uncapped who have retired from international cricket 5 years ago. Or he/she may not be in the annual contract of BCCI. It has been 5 years since Dhoni also retired. In such a situation, this rule of BCCI will be applicable on them. According to the new rule, uncapped players will be retained for Rs 4 crore.
