Oscar 2023: This year’s Oscar Awards are going to be special for India. For the first time, India has received three nominations at the Academy Awards. Where the song Naatu-Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s superhit film RRR got nomination in Best Original Song. At the same time, “All That Breathes” and “The Elephant Whispers” have received nominations for Best Documentary Feature and Best Short Documentary respectively.

Apart from the nomination, Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone will also be a presenter at the Oscars. There is little time left for the Oscar Awards to be announced and sentiments are running high. Indian viewers will be able to stream the live streaming of Oscars on Disney + Hotstar from 6:30 am on Monday. Let us tell you that the ceremony is being organized at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

‘Natu Natu’

‘Natu Natu’ whether it wins or not, will definitely register India’s presence on the Oscars stage. Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaal Bhairav, who lent their voices to the original track, along with composer MM Keeravani, will perform the fast-paced number for the Oscars audience. Live performances by Best Original Song nominees have been part of an Oscar tradition for years. ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and the Critics’ Choice Award earlier this year. The ‘RRR’ team of Ram Charan, NTR Jr and director SS Rajamouli is already in Los Angeles to cheer for ‘Naatu Naatu’ when it wins an award.

‘All That Breathes’

Shaunak Sen’s documentary on climate change ‘All That Breathes’ has also got a nomination in this. ‘All That Breathes’ has received an Oscar nomination in the documentary feature film category. Set in Delhi, it is the story of siblings Mohammed Saud and Nadeem Shahzad, who have dedicated their lives to rescuing and treating injured birds, especially black kites. Documentaries ‘All the Beauty and the Bloodshed’, ‘Fire of Love’, ‘A House Made of Splinters’ and ‘Navalni’ are also nominated in this category. Which will give tough competition to All That Breathes.

“The Elephant Whispers”

‘The Elephant Whispers’ is a Netflix documentary that talks about the unbreakable bond between an abandoned elephant and its caretakers. It competes with Hallout, How Do You Measure a Year?, The Martha Mitchell Effect and Stranger at the Gate in the Documentary Short Subject category.
