Will corporate companies adopt engineering colleges, will B.Tech students benefit from the new plan of the state government?

Karnataka is one of the states in India that has the highest number of engineering colleges. Where a large number of students from all over the country go to study BE and B.Tech. The world’s biggest IT companies and multi-national companies are also present in Karnataka. Now this state is preparing to take a new initiative. Planning is underway to get 100 engineering colleges here adopted by corporate companies. The big thing is that this scheme is ready to be implemented from the coming session itself. Karnataka’s IT Minister Priyank Kharge has put forward this proposal. he/she has told that ‘We have planned to get 100 B.Tech colleges adopted by 100 corporate houses or Global Capability Centers (GCC). There are preparations to implement it from next year i.e. 2025 itself.

What will be the benefit to the students?

Priyank Kharge said that ‘A big automobile company had said that it is ready to provide jobs to the students, but the students are not fit for employment. Because they lack training. So we suggested him/her why not train the students himself. For this we will create the necessary environment.

According to Kharge, ‘When the company asked us for a blueprint, we prepared this plan and sent the proposal to them. This can be started from the next academic session. The companies have agreed.

It is clear from this scheme that if the companies themselves provide training to the students of the adopted colleges, then they can be prepared as per the demand of the job market and the required skills during the course itself. With this, after completing engineering studies, students will be better trained for jobs and their chances of getting a job will increase.

Nipun Karnataka Initiative is example

Referring to the Nipun Karnataka Initiative during this announcement, Kharge said, ‘Through this recently launched initiative, the students of Karnataka will be the most equipped, well trained, best skill set and most employable youth. Under Nipun, there have been partnerships with companies like IBM, Intel, Microsoft, BSSI Consortium, Accenture. It will train 1 lakh students of Karnataka every year.
