Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher confirmed that skipper Rohit Sharma and pacer Jofra Archer are fit to play in their opening IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. Speculations were rife that Rohit might not be available for the team’s opening match as he/she was not present at the captains’ photo shoot in Ahmedabad.

But Boucher quashed all the speculations. Boucher said in the pre-match press conference on Saturday that yes, Rohit is fit. he/she has trained for the last two days and is 100 per cent fit to play. he/she was not feeling well that morning and as a precautionary measure we asked him/her to stay at home. he/she said that the players have to do a lot of photo shoots. he/she doesn’t get much time to himself so we thought it would be better.
In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, England fast bowler Archer will lead the pace attack of Mumbai Indians and he/she himself is returning after a long time from injury. Boucher said that Joffra is 100 per cent ready for tomorrow’s match. he/she didn’t train today, it was an optional training session. he/she felt that he/she was ready for tomorrow. he/she will play tomorrow.
