WI vs SA 1st test: Kagiso Rabada’s deadly bowling after de Kock, South Africa beat West Indies by innings

South Africa defeated West Indies by an innings and 63 runs in the first Test on the back of their fast bowlers. South Africa bundled out West Indies for 162 in the second innings.

Earlier, the hosts had scored just 97 runs in the first innings. South Africa took a huge lead by scoring 322 runs. Kagiso Rabada took five wickets for 34 runs in the second innings. Roston Chase scored the highest 62 runs for West Indies.

Earlier, the West Indies team, which was all out for just 97 runs in the first innings, lost four wickets for 51 runs in the second innings. Roston Chase and Jermaine Blakewood shared an unbroken 31-run partnership for the fifth wicket as West Indies posted 82 for four at the end of day’s play. Chase 21 and Blackwood 10 at stumps.

Earlier, South Africa scored a big score with de Kock’s sixth century and the best innings in Tests. He shared a 43-run stand with Rassie van der Dussen (46) and 53-run partnership with Wien Mulder (25) and added 79 runs for the ninth wicket with Norkhia to take the team past 300. He hit 12 fours and seven sixes in his innings.

For the West Indies, former captain Jason Holder took four for 75, while new fast bowler Jaden Seals, 19, took three for 75.
