how much chloride can be added to cement
In the notice, it has been said to mix chloride with cement, which dries the concrete quickly and also causes rust in the bars. Due to this, cracks appear in the wall and pillar and there is a fear of collapse of the house. Most of the concrete structures nowadays are either RCC or Prestressed / Post tensioned concrete where steel is used to carry the tensile stress. As per IS-12269: 1987, the amount of chloride by mass in cement is limited to 0.05 per cent of the total. The cement manufacturer has to certify this to the consumer within 10 days from the date of manufacture.
