Both the visits were very important and were discussed a lot around the world. Foreign affairs experts say that this statement has not come from Putin just like that. Among the countries named by Putin, there is much more trust in India. There are many reasons behind this. There are many other countries including America which may not trust China that much. The visit to Russia in July, Ukraine in August and now this statement has come from the Russian President in the month of September. India’s stand has not changed since the war between Russia and Ukraine broke out. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said many times that India supports the policy of development and not expansionism. Many countries of the world including Ukraine have said that India can play an important role in stopping this war. Now Russia is also saying the same thing. PM ​​Modi can play the role of mediator and efforts were made by him/her to ensure that this war does not escalate further. When PM Modi returns from Ukraine, he/she talks to both the US President and the Russian President. he/she also shared what PM Modi experienced from this visit. This increases the hope even more.

Modi spoke to both Russia and America after returning from Ukraine
After returning from his/her visit to Ukraine in August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone. he/she shared the experiences gained from his/her Ukraine visit and reiterated India’s commitment to a quick, permanent and peaceful solution to the conflict with Ukraine. Modi had informed US President Joe Biden about his/her Ukraine visit and expressed India’s full support for restoring peace in the region through dialogue and diplomacy. America stands with Ukraine and on the other side with Russia. America initially tried to get India to join it. Even when Modi visited Russia for the first time after the war in his/her third term, many Western countries also raised questions. But India’s stand did not change. India criticized the war. When Modi returns from Ukraine and shares his/her views, the trust in India increases even more.

Zelensky also trusts India
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also said that India can play an important role in global diplomatic efforts to end the war between his/her country and Russia. Addressing Indian media persons after bilateral talks while Modi was on a visit to Ukraine, Zelensky said Modi’s visit is historic. Modi’s visit to Ukraine was the first by an Indian Prime Minister since Ukraine’s independence in 1991. The visit came six weeks after his/her summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow in July. Modi earlier told Zelensky that both Ukraine and Russia should sit together without wasting time to find ways to end the war. Modi said India has been in favour of peace since the beginning of the war in February 2022.

America also believes that India can play an important role

John Kirby, National Security Communications Advisor at the White House, the official residence of the US President, has said that the US welcomes any country that wants to try to help end the conflict in Ukraine. Kirby was asked a day earlier on Wednesday if he/she thinks India can play a role in ending the war. Kirby said, any country that is ready to help end this war and does so keeping in mind the privileges of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the privileges of the Ukrainian people, his/her plan for establishing a just peace, we will certainly welcome its role. When asked if he/she thinks India can play a role in establishing peace, the White House official said, we certainly hope so.
