Why should Rohit bat in the middle order…Shastri told the reason

New Delhi. Rohit Sharma is ready to take command of the Indian team in the second test match against Australia. The Indian cricket team will face Australia in the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide from Friday (6 December). Due to the birth of his/her second child, Rohit could not play in the first Test match played in Perth. In their place, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal were fielded in the opening. But now after the return of Rohit, the Indian team management is having to scramble for the opening slot. Will Rahul-Jaiswal be fielded in the opening in the day-night test also or will Rahul have to vacate the opening slot for Rohit? Former coach of Team India Ravi Shastri has expressed his/her views on this matter. Shastri has told where Rohit should be fielded for batting in the second test and who should be Yashasvi Jaiswal’s second partner.

Former head coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri has told that Rohit Sharma should open or come in the middle order. While talking to ICC Review, Shastri, looking at the experience of Rohit Sharma, said that if India has to take a 2-0 lead in the series, then it can prove to be a game changer. Shastri said, ‘he/she (Rohit) is very experienced. You need experience in the middle order. I think KL Rahul should be kept in the opening only. And Rohit should enter the middle order. It has not been long since Rohit came to Australia.

IND vs AUS: 3 Indian batsmen have the most runs in Adelaide… Number one and three batsmen have scored centuries.

If he/she returns then he/she will be like ‘Gabbar’… giving competition to the youth at the age of 38, played a stormy innings, scored so many runs with fours and sixes only.

Rohit started his/her career in the middle order in Tests.
Rohit Sharma started his/her Test career as a middle order batsman. Before coming to the opening, he/she had batted at number 5 or below in 41 innings where he/she scored 1474 runs at an average of 43.35 which included 3 centuries and 9 half centuries. his/her best performance in the middle order has been at home. Where he/she impressed by batting at an average of 96.12. In Australia, he/she has scored 187 runs in 7 innings which includes a half century which he/she scored in Melbourne in 2018/19.

‘Rohit should bat at number 5 or six,
According to Shastri, ‘Rohit had to play a practice match against Australia PM XI very soon after reaching Australia. I would like the Indian team management to continue the setup of the first Test in the opening. Rohit should come to bat at number five or six. Team India has a great mix of youth and experience. Now it is his/her (Rohit’s) choice whether he/she opens the innings or goes to the middle order. he/she is the captain of the team. he/she has to see where he/she can bat. When it comes to Australia, it has to be seen where he/she can bat most dangerously.
