Why sacrifice players like Akash Deep to fit Siraj in the system?

brisbane On this Australian tour, first Perth, then Adelaide and Brisbane.. after watching and understanding the test matches in three different cities under different conditions, it felt that if there is no ‘quota’ system in the selection and if the correct eleven is played then Team India will win the series. It would have been at a different place. The most recent example is that of Akashdeep.

Akashdeep was sidelined in Perth saying that Harshit Rana was a better batsman than him/her. Even if this is accepted, why could Rana not prove himself? Now let us talk about the second permanent bowler of the team, Siraj, till date no one has been able to solve the mystery of why he/she is in the team. Now we cannot even say about him/her that he/she is a better batsman. And everyone is watching what he/she is doing in bowling. Now talking about Akashdeep, in his/her very first match on his/her Australia tour, he/she stole the show with both ball and bat.

Akashdeep turns out to be the genie of Ragda selection.

In the first two Tests, Akashdeep, who sat on the bench and watched the match, gave water and clapped, proved to be the boss of Brisbane. The saying ‘when there is a chance’ fits Akashdeep perfectly. Luck favored Akashdeep who could not take a wicket despite bowling well in the first innings. When the follow-on had to be saved, his/her fearless batting came in handy and the way he/she faced Cummins Starc was enough to show what the team management was doing with him/her. After shining with the bat, Akashdeep bowled dangerously and took two wickets in the second innings.
This is the same player who when he/she made his/her debut felt that he/she had found a bowler who would fill Shami’s place and whenever he/she got a chance, Akash proved it. But today the question in everyone’s mind is that how did Akashdeep go back as soon as he/she came to Australia. Interestingly, to justify Siraj’s selection, the team management also puts him/her higher in the batting order, but even there Akashdeep wins.

Akashdeep is better than Siraj, Rana!

Be it bowling long spells with precise line length, or making the ball seam and swing, looking at the current form, Akashdeep will look better than Siraj. Siraj has taken 6 wickets in the last four Tests and has the ability to score runs. The question does not arise. So Akashdeep took 10 wickets in 5 tests. And how he/she can contribute in batting, we saw this on the Gabba ground. But the issue is that why the people associated with the team are not able to see what we all are able to see. We are breaking the trust of a player who can prove to be a match winner if given trust. The issue is not whether the team management should appoint Siraj or Harshit Rana, the issue is that the playing eleven should include only those who are in form and contribute to the team. Those who play cricket only with their mouth should not have a place in the team. Nor should there be discrimination against those players who come from small towns and do not have any godfather in the team.
