After all, why is Trump’s Indo-Pak-China skewed eye
The number of nuclear weapons in South Asian countries like Indo-Pakistan is increasing every year. At the same time, China, one of the three nuclear power -rich countries, is rapidly increasing its nuclear strength. Concerned with this, US President Donald Trump has said that he/she wants to start negotiating nuclear weapons with Russia and China again. he/she hopes that other countries including Pakistan and India can also be included in this scheme.
America should not get ahead of America
In fact, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Route last week, Trump said that Russia and the US have the most nuclear weapons in the world. Trump’s concern is that China will match the US in the next 5 years in this case. Trump failed in a conversation on the plan of nuclear weapons reduction from China during his/her first presidential tenure.
9 countries reduced nuclear weapons
According to a 2024 report by Sweden’s think tank ‘SIPRI’, nine nuclear weapons countries, America, Russia, Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel are constantly making their nuclear weapons reserves modern. These 9 countries have reduced the number of nuclear weapons in total to around 12,512 in 2023.
How many nuclear weapons have India and Pakistan
According to SIPRI reports, India has 172, while Pakistan has 170 nuclear warheads. Pakistan is preparing nuclear weapons to counter India. At the same time, India is focusing on the deployment of weapons that hit long distances i.e. China.
China’s nuclear weapons increase by 22 percent
India and Pakistan’s neighbor and the third largest nuclear power in the world with China has increased from 410 warheads to 500 with 22 per cent increase. The US Ministry of Defense estimates that China will have 1,000 nuclear weapons by 2030.
How many nuclear weapons did America-Russia take out
According to ‘Sipri’ report, Russia and the US have 90 percent of the world’s total nuclear weapons. Russia and the US have removed 2,500 old nuclear weapons from their reserves in total. They are slowly destroying them. In 1986, the number of nuclear weapons worldwide was 70,000, which is now reduced.
South Africa first country, which ends nuclear program
In 1991, South Africa became the first country to end its nuclear program voluntarily. Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan stopped their nuclear programs after the Soviet Union broke in 1994. Instead, he/she was guaranteed security from the US, Britain, France, China and Russia. During this time, many agreements have been agreed to avoid the use of nuclear weapons and create a nuclear weapon -free area.
Why did America-Russia again boycott UN agreement
In July 2017, the world had come close to getting rid of nuclear weapons, when more than 100 countries signed the United Nations agreement that talked about imposing a complete ban on them. However, even then, nuclear power -rich countries America, Britain, France and Russia boycotted the agreement.
China says that America takes steps first
The Chinese government has been a stance from the beginning that if nuclear weapons are interacted, first the US and Russia should bring out the number of nuclear weapons. China says that the US has a dual policy in this case. She will not run here.
Is Trump carrying forward Ronald Reagan’s tradition
During the recent conversation, NATO Secretary General Mark Root said that the attempt to reduce tension arising from nuclear weapons worldwide has been the tradition of the Republican Party. Former US President Ronald Reagan also spoke to Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev to reduce the number of nuclear weapons. Trump did the same in his/her first round.
‘Treaty’ in America-Russia ending in February next year
The ‘New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty’ between the US and Russia is till February 2026. In such a situation, negotiations may begin to increase or reduce the number of nuclear weapons. Experts say Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump agreed to maintain nuclear weapons limit as such agreement may reduce stress.
No first use policy of India, but China is also a big challenge
India says that it believes in the ‘No First Use’ nuclear policy, but since 1998 its nuclear policy has been made in view of China. If India’s nuclear strategy reacted to Chinese expansion, it will affect not only Pakistan’s nuclear capacity but also India-pacific security and international nuclear politics. Given the way China is dominating the Pacific Ocean and China Sea, India will not cut its nuclear weapons at all.
