The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is working with the Indian government to deport Indians living in America illegally. On October 22, Indians living illegally in America were brought back to India through a chartered plane. This shows the strong action taken by DHS against people living illegally. DHS says that it is going to strictly enforce America’s laws.
Those coming illegally will be sent back: US officials
Senior official Christy A. Cangallo, who serves as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, has given information about the current action. he/she said, “Indians who have no basis for legal stay in America will be immediately deported back to their country. People thinking of going to America should not fall prey to the words of smugglers.”
Infiltration into America reduced
Actually, America is trying to stop people from entering the country illegally. For this, border security has been increased and easy ways are being created to enter the country legally. In June 2024, the President ordered ‘Border Security’. Since then, the number of people illegally entering the US-Mexico border has decreased by 55%.
According to DHS, more than 160,000 people have been deported from the US so far in 2024. For this, more than 495 special aircraft have been sent to more than 145 countries, which also includes India. America, along with the governments of other countries, is sending back people living in the country illegally.
