According to Indian time, earlier the auction of players was to start at 3:00 pm but now there has been a change in it. BCCI has been forced to change the timing of the auction. According to the new time, bidding on players will now start at 3:30 pm. That means the auction will start with a delay of half an hour from the earlier given time. This time 575 players will enter the field, out of which 204 will be bid. The rest will remain unsold.

The broadcaster of IPL 2025 Mega Auction had requested BCCI to change the timing of the auction. The auction broadcasters were afraid that the mega auction would clash with the first Test match between India vs Australia. November 24 will be the third day of this test match. This test match will start at 7:50 am Indian time and the day’s play will end at 2:30 pm. Often, the timing of the match is extended due to circumstances like weather or bad light or slow overs.

1574 players had registered for the IPL mega auction. Of these, 574 players were shortlisted. Later Joffra Archer has been added to the auction list. Including Joffra, the total number of players becomes 575. Of these, 366 Indian players and 209 foreign players are included.
