Tika Lal Taploo was murdered by terrorists. he/she was a senior BJP leader. Today, PM Modi also remembered Tika Lal Taploo in a rally in Kashmir. he/she was murdered by the terrorists of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on this day, i.e. on 14 September 1989. After all, who is Tika Lal Taploo, in whose name BJP has announced to start the scheme.

Today we have remembered Teeka Lal Taploo, paid tribute to him/her. It has been more than three decades, on this day he/she was martyred by terrorists. After his/her murder, an endless series of atrocities against Kashmiri Pandits took place. It is the BJP, which raised the voice of Kashmiri Pandits and worked in their interest. Jammu and Kashmir BJP has announced the Teeka Lal Taploo Yojana for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus. This will accelerate the process of getting Kashmiri Hindus their rights.’

Who was Teeka Lal Taploo?

Tika Lal Taploo, a well-known leader of Kashmiri Pandits and senior BJP leader, was assassinated by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) terrorists on 14 September 1989. Taploo was a lawyer and raised voice for Kashmiri Pandits. his/her assassination triggered a terrible wave of violence against Kashmiri Pandits in the valley, which forced thousands of Pandits to flee their homes. Tika Lal Taploo was born in Srinagar and was educated in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. After completing his/her studies, he/she returned to Jammu and Kashmir and started practicing law. he/she soon became a prominent leader of the Kashmiri Pandit community and was also jailed several times during the 1967 agitation and the Emergency. Taploo was one of the early members of the BJP and also became the party’s vice-president in Jammu and Kashmir. he/she was also associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Terrorists targeted him/her because of his/her closeness to RSS

Taploo’s activism for Kashmiri Pandits and his/her association with BJP and RSS made him/her a target of terrorists. On 12 September 1989, his/her house was attacked, however, he/she managed to escape. But, on 14 September, while going to Jammu and Kashmir High Court, terrorists attacked him/her and killed him/her. Taploo’s murder created an atmosphere of panic in the valley. Kashmiri Pandits started being targeted and they started receiving death threats. Due to this terrible situation, thousands of Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homes and settle in other states.

he/she came out of his/her house after hearing the girl’s voice and was killed by terrorists

Tika Lal Taploo was not just a leader but a person who was always ready to help people. On the day of his/her assassination, he/she came out of his/her house after hearing the crying of a girl. The girl’s mother told that there was a function in her daughter’s school and she did not have money. Taploo immediately took out five rupees from his/her pocket and started giving it to the girl, when the terrorists opened fire on him/her. The murder of Tika Lal Taploo further deepened the wounds of Kashmiri Pandits. his/her murder still reminds us of the atrocities committed against Kashmiri Pandits. This is the reason why BJP has announced that if their government is formed, they will run a scheme for the return of Kashmiri Pandits, which will be named after Taploo.
